Belief in God, without belief in the Prophet (SAWW), would still be unbelief.
When the eye becomes the heart, the heart becomes the eye.
The world is ancient, but it has not lost its newness.
A man is happy who is happy with his Naseeb.
Do not destroy anybody’s peace. You will find peace.
Democracy is the name of the period between two martial laws.
Remove the conflict between your desires and your duties, peace will come.
When the child is ill, the mother will know how to pray.
Investigation after declaration of submission leads astray.
Death is the protector of life and life is the process of death.
Life is not only Newton, it is also Milton.
He who has no light in his heart, what will he gain from the festival of lamps.
A more fearful thing than death is the fear of death.
Students are the real inheritors of country.
The period before the dawn of knowledge is called the age of darkness.
Man neither loses nor gains in this world. He just comes here and departs.
When Allah accepts repentance for sin, He wipes out the very memory of sin.
One who has no beloved in the country can never love the country.
He who is drowned in sin, is devoid of faith in prayer.
Hazrat Wasif Ali Wasif(R.A)

Wasif Ali Wasif(R.A)(15 January 1929 – 18 January 1993) was a teacher, writer, poet and sufi intellectual from Pakistan. He was famous for his unique literary style. He used to write short pieces of prose on topics like love, life, fortune, fear, hope, expectation, promise, prayer, happiness, sorrow and so on. He was the regular columnist of Pakistani Urdu newspaper Daily Nawa-i-Waqt. His 1st column named “Muhabbat”. In his life most of his columns were combined to form books with his own selected title. He did poetry in Urdu and Punjabi languages. Probably no contemporary Urdu writer is more cited in quotations than he is. Later years he used to answer questions in specially arranged gatherings at Lahore attended by the notable community. Some of these sessions were recorded in audio and were later published as Guftgoo (talk) series. His mehfils never had a set subject nor did he lecture on chosen topics. His way was to ask people if they had questions and then he responded to these in his highly original style. His thought was more on mysticism, spirituality and humanity. There are about 40 books to his credit including “Shab Chiragh”, “Kiran Kiran Sooraj”, and “Dil Darya Samundar”. It is self-evident that his books as well as recordings of talks are a treasure trove of wisdom.

Dil mat Tapak Nazar Say ke Paya Na Jay Ga
Ju’ N Ashak phar Zami’N Say Uthaya Na Jay Ga.
Kaba Agarcha Toota to Kya Jay Ghum Hay Shaikh.
Kuch Kaser-e-Dil Nahe’N Ka Banaya NA Jay Ga.
Punhche’ N gay is Chaman May’ N Na Hum Dadad Ko Kabhi.
Ju’ N Gull Yah Chaak-e-Jab Silaya Na Jay Ga.
Ammama Ko Utar Kay Padyo Namaz Shaikh,
Sajday Say Varna Sar Ko Uthaya Na Jay Ga.
Zalim My’ N  Keh Raha Hu’ N Ke Is Khu’ N Say Dar Guzar,
Sauda Ka Qatel Hay Yah Chupaya Na Jay Ga.
English Translation.
O my poor heart, don’t flow out from
My eyes like blood, beware,
You will never be picked up again
From the ground, like useless tear.
If Kaba (The sacred Muslim Masque in Makkah) has been broken down,
Don’t feel sad, that’s not a lover’s heart,
Which can never be mend again,
If once broken apart.
In this world, we cannot achieve
That what our heart desire,
My wounds will never heal, not sewed
Like roses they’re on fire.
O my poor heart don’t turn your face,
If she has a sword for slaughter,
For if you cannot bear the pain,
How will you face the lovers?
O Shaikh (Saint) put off your turban when
You’re saying your prayers,
Or else you won’t be able to
Pickup your head from prostrate
O dear beloved don’t be cruel,
And don’t think of this slay,
For if you killed Sauda, with this
You will not get away.

Ajab apna hal hota jo visal-e-yar hota
kabhi jan sadqe hoti kabhi dil nisar hota
na maza hai dushmani main na hai lutf dosti main
koi gair gair hota koi yar yar hota
ye maza tha dillagi ka k barabar ag lagti
na tumhen qarar hota na hamain qarar hota
tere wade par sitamagar abhi aur sabr karte
agar apni zindagi ka hamain aitabar hota
English Translation
That would be a strange feeling, if my beloved had come to see me,
At one moment I would rendered my heart and at another my soul for her.
There is no charm in enmity, no pleasure in friendship,
Someone had to be an enemy like enemy; someone had to be a friend like friend.
It would be quite amazing in love if both were having in the same fire (passion) of love,
Nor you were at ease not I was at ease.
O my merciless beloved, I would wait a little longer on your words of promise,
If I had a guarantee of my life any more.

Aaj basant manaalay suhaagun,
Aaj basant manaalay;
Anjan manjan kar piya mori,
Lambay neher lagaaye;
Tu kya sovay neend ki maasi,
So jaagay teray bhaag, suhaagun,
Aaj basant manalay…..;
Oonchi naar kay oonchay chitvan,
Ayso diyo hai banaaye;
Shaah-e Amir tohay dekhan ko,
Nainon say naina milaaye,
Suhaagun, aaj basant manaalay.
TRANSLATION-
Rejoice, my love, rejoice,
Its spring here, rejoice.
Bring out your lotions and toiletries,
And decorate your long hair.
Oh, you’re still enjoying your sleep, wake-up.
Even your destiny has woken up,
Its spring here, rejoice.
You snobbish lady with arrogant looks,
The King Amir is here to see you;
Let your eyes meet his,
Oh my love, rejoice;
Its spring here again.

Khusrau darya prem ka, ulti wa ki dhaar
Jo utra so doob gaya, jo dooba so paar
English Translation.
Oh Khusrau, the river of love
Runs in strange directions.
One who jumps into it drowns,
And one who drowns, gets across.
———————————
Mun tu shudam tu mun shudi,mun tun shudam tu jaan shudi
Taakas na guyad baad azeen, mun deegaram tu deegari
English Translation:
I have become you, and you me,
I am the body, you soul;
So that no one can say hereafter,
That you are someone, and me someone else.
———————————
Tu shabana mi numaai be barkay boodi imshab,
Ke hunooz chashm-e mastat asar-e khumar daarad.
English Translation:
You look sleepless, in whose embrace did you pass the night;
Your intoxicated eye has still the signs of tipsiness.

Sakal bun (or Saghan bhun) phool rahi sarson,
Sakal bun phool rahi…..
Umbva phutay, tesu phulay, koyal bolay daar daar,
Aur gori karat singaar,
Malaniyan gadhwa lay aayin karson,
Sakal bun phool rahi…..
Tarah tarah kay phool lagaaye,
Lay gadhwa haathan mein aaye.
Nijamudin kay darwazay par,
Aawan keh gaye aashaq rung,
Aur beet gaye barson.
Sakal bun phool rahi sarson.
Translation-
The yellow mustard is blooming in every field,
Mango buds are clicking open, other flowers too;
The koyal chirps from branch to branch,
And the maiden tries her make-up,
The gardener-girls have brought bouquets.
Colourful flowers of all kinds,
In hands everyone’s bringing;
But Aashiq-rung (the lover), who had promised to come
To Nizamuddin’s house in spring,
Hasn’t turned up – its been years.
The yellow mustard is blooming in every field.

Bahut Kathin hai dagar panghat ki,
Kaisay main bhar laaun madhva say matki?
Paniya bharan ko main jo gayi thi,
Daud jhapat mori matki patki.
Bahut kathin hai dagar panghat ki.
Khusrau Nijaam kay bal bal jayyiye
Laaj rakho moray ghoonghat pat ki.
Bahut kathin hai dagar panghat ki.
TRANSLATION-
The road to the Well is much too difficult,
How to get my pot filled?
When I went to fill the water,
In the furor, I broke my pot.
Khusrau has given his whole life to you Oh, Nijam.
Would you please take care of my veil (or self esteem),
The road to the well is much too difficult.
